Non-Resident Florida Concealed Carry Permit Course
General Course Information...
Fidelity Investigative Training Academy is proud to provide a course of instruction for Illinois residents wishing to obtain a non-resident Florida Concealed Carry Permit. Our course is tailored to introduce the student to relevant Florida laws that pertain to the concealed carry permit, the practical aspects of concealed carry, firearm safety, home safety, firearm basics, ammunition, maintenance and live-fire range training.
All of our firearms instructors are certified NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors and NRA Civilian Firearms Instructors. Each student will, upon completion of the course, a "Certificate of Course Completion" , signed by the instructor, issued by the Academy. Students will also be provided with information for additional requirements that must be met to submit applications to the State of Florida successfully.
What You Need To Bring To Class...
Each student should bring their personal handgun, securely stored in a carry case (no live ammunition in the classroom), along with eye and ear protection, and a baseball-type hat with a bill. Students should have purchased ammunition for their respective handgun, which is to be kept stored in their vehicles, until the range portion of the course.
The Range Portion Of This Course...
There are no public ranges in the City of Chicago. Upon completion of the classroom portion of the course, students will travel to a designated range in the western suburbs (determined by date of the class) for the live-fire portion of the course. Students must provide their own transportation to and from the range facility. The range facility is a public range, and other shooters will also be using the range. It is important that the student listen carefully to the instructions given by the instructor(s) and range safety officers. Any individual that engages in unsafe behavior or refuses to listen to the staff instructor(s) will immediately be ejected from the range and the course. No refund will be issued.
City of Chicago Residents...
Residents of the City of Chicago must have already obtained a Chicago Firearm Permit, and have registered their firearm with the Chicago Police Department, prior to bringing it to class. Chicago residents that have not already completed this step must rent a firearm from the Academy, and cannot use their own firearm, to prevent violation of Chicago's ordinance. The fee for firearm rental is $ 35.00 and includes ammunition. City of Chicago residents that do not have a Chicago Firearms Permit (CFP) and need to undergo the training to obtain one, can review and register for that course here.
After You Register For Class...
After registering for class, call us and speak to the registrar at: (224) 678-0311 to verify your registration and receive additional information.
All prospective students are expected to register prior to class and follow the instructions provided during the registration and pre-course preparation. Last minute re-scheduling must be confirmed with the Academy registrar prior to the start of class, however, registration fees are non-refundable. Ensure that you want to take this class prior to registration, and that you have time on the specified date(s) to take this class. Students must successfully complete all sections of this course to receive a "Certificate of Course Completion". Payment of the course fee does not, in and of itself, guarantee certification.
